Sophia Marinos, a producer with BIGhART, rang me to ask if I could work on a feature documentary about Albert Namatjira. I knew of Namatjira from my childhood: my dad was an artist aspiring to the European expressionists movement and consequently I was assured Namatjira was too mainstream and equivalent to ducks on the wall. Well I am so glad I got to work on this project because it gave me the opportunity to learn not just what a significant artist Namatjira was but what a significant organisation BIGhART is.
Much use was made of archival footage and stills. Many stills were given a multiplane "3D" treatment.
