They are both Aboriginal, both were adopted by white families as babies, and both reconnected with their biological families—but their experiences were very different. Adrian had increasing difficulties with his adoptive parents, while Gill's youth was very different despite experiencing racism. Not racism from their families—but to know more, you'll have to watch!

The interviews were shot in sets that were childhood reflections—Gill's with green screen windows and doorway—both sets stylishly lit and shot by Kathryn Milliss. I still amaze at how good green screen compositing has become.
