INFAMOUS VICTORY - BEN CHIFLEY'S BATTLE FOR COAL
Directed by Geoff Burton for Film Australia this documentary tells the story of how Chifley, a Labor Prime Minister, called in the army to break a coalminer's strike. Edited by Henry Dangar and due to be broadcast by the ABC in 2008 the post challenges were in delivering a grade for the dramatised segments, which were shot on DVC Pro50, that conveyed an historic flavour, to add a "film grunge" look to some of the Pro50 footage so that it would integrate with the archival footage and finaly to polish up the archival and rack the aspect ratio conversion to ensure the subject of each shot was framed as best as possible in the 16:9 space.
